Places we would not have found if we hadn't done Archaeology

Why not share non-archaeological places that you find when pursuing your favourite hobby? The first two are ones we found on the way to Gerard's Bromley.

The Tea Room, Sugnall Business Centre, Sugnall, Eccleshall Off the beaten track, turn left just before Croxton on the B5026, signposted Garden Centre. A delightful tearoom and restaurant forming part of the Sugnall Business Centre in the heart of beautiful country. Excellent food and service.

Factory Discount Footware Although slight seconds you would be hard pressed to find fault with them, particularly as they are branded and cheap. Take your NUS student card for an extra 10% discount. Turn left at Great Bridgeford and follow the signs. Well worth a visit and the cafe next door does bacon butties (to be sampled next time!).

Mere Park Garden Centre A lovely, brand new, garden centre at the junction where you turn off the A41 to Gnosall. Plants good and very reasonably priced, food beautifully cooked and good value. Well worth many visits.

The Forester Arms, Broseley A favourite pub of ours, we often relaxed here after a hard day's digging at Caughley. They do good food too and the last two Christmas meals were superb. Very highly recommended.

The Summer House, Boningale We used to collapse here after a hot day's digging at Wrottesley. It has since changed hands (2007) and the food is superb. It is also a little closer than the Forester Arms so we had our 2007 Christmas meal there. Very highly recommended.
