Tuter's Hill

Site Director: Sue Foster

An aerial photograph shows a circular parch mark roughly 20 metres in diameter. We shall do some geophysics here to see if there is anything under the ground.
6 grids were placed over the location of the parch mark, but nothing corresponding to a circle was seen in the geophysics results. Sue returned the next week to do some gradiometry and there is a suggestion of two lines which meet at a right angle there. It is said that there were buildings in this area.
Close inspection of the arial photograph suggests that the circular feature cuts through the plough marks in which case the circle is on the surface and man-made. However, the circle reappeared in the summer of 2007 for a brief spell (after ploughing) but we missed it.

We had front line seats at the Cosford air show there. A microlight and a hang glider both invaded the Cosford air space. Unfortunately, the Red Arrows had to curtail their show as they used up so much fuel trying to encourage the interlopers to lope off. But we had a good view!
